About Nadine

My Reflexology history!
I qualified as a reflexologist in 1993 at the Maureen Burgess School of Reflexology. During my early years as a reflexologist I was delighted to be invited back to the school to be an assistant tutor on the practitioner courses and also gladly used my artistic skills to help create the school’s reflexology foot chart! Over the years I continued to return to the school from time to time to share reflexology insights with the students.
Maureen was an absolute pioneer in spreading the wonders of reflexology. She is held in the hearts of all she touched in her extraordinary life, and her legacy most certainly lives on.

When living in my home town London in addition to my usual practice it was a great privilege to give Reflexology treatments at the Recovery Centre in Knightsbridge. Here my treatments complemented the work of Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists and other Holistic therapists in helping people, including adolescents on their wellbeing journey.

After moving to Reigate I wanted to offer my skills as a reflexologist to the local community and volunteered as a reflexologist for a day bi monthly for a period of three years at East Surrey Macmillan Cancer Support Centre.

Having practiced the wonderful art of reflexology for many years I have had the privilege of giving reflexology treatments to a variety of people of various ages, seeking reflexology for a myriad of different reasons. I believe the personal life experiences one has over the years, whether joyful or challenging, add breadth to ones understanding as a holistic therapist.
I continue my professional development by doing reflexology related courses that enhance the way I work, including courses that have been focussed on maternity reflexology and courses focussed on mental/emotional wellbeing. I have tapped into energy/meridian/chakra disciplines which have included Reiki and EFT. I found it fascinating and enlightening getting tucked into Hypnotherapy modules. I am trained in Indian Champissage and practiced it alongside my reflexology for a few years but decided to leave the literal big shoulders, necks and heads behind and solely approach them through the feet!

Aside from loving my work as a holistic therapist, I am a mother to my gorgeous shape shifting teenage son.(update.......a gorgeous shape shifting adult doing a degree at University!) I find drawing to be a form of meditation and painting as a way to celebrate colour. I love walking in nature, the arts and have become a super big fan of 5 Rhythms, a wonderfully therapeutic form of meditation through dance!

"Of all my past students Nadine Fernandez stands out as possibly the most successful as she has the qualities one seeks in a therapist, compassion, experience of conditions, and a calm personality." - Maureen Burgess
